Q: What exactly
is a "Prehung" door?
A: A prehung door
consist of the following components:
-
the door
-
head jamb
-
hinge jamb
-
strike jamb
Our prehung
Redi-Built doors start by using only high production precision door
manufacturing machinery. The door, hinge jamb and strike jamb are all
machined simultaneously in one cycle. All hinge screws are predrilled
and the hinges are applied to the door and hinge jamb. The striker
jamb is routed for face place and striker pocket. Once machining is
completed the door and jambs travel onto the automatic assembler
where the header jamb is positioned and all is nailed together. Now
the completed unit is packaged and ready for delivery for immediate installation.

Q: How I
determine if a door is right hand or a left hand swing?
A: All doors are
denoted by the direction of their swing or their hand. There are
several different terms and ways to describe the swing of a door. The
system we use is the most straight forward and easiest to understand.
All you have to
remember is you must always face the door as it
swings away from you then note which
side is the hinge jamb on.
