Wood Columns...   Wood columns are the definition of strength  beauty and have endured the elements for decades. Whether they're used outdoors or as interior architectural accents, wood columns will add grace to any home. The columns' classic looks are the result of proportionately pleasing contours best described by the Greek architectural term "entasis", which involves a slight taper to add balance and proportion. Staves are crafted from finger jointed stock to increase stability. Tongue & groove joints interlock the staves to ensure superior structural integrity of the column. For weather durability, the staves are edge glued under pressure using Type 1 exterior glue.       Each column is detail sanded assuring a smooth, flawless surface that accepts stain or paint readily. Wood columns arrive ready to finished and only minor on site touch up is required. Available Plain or Fluted  -  All columns are Load Bearing All columns include Tuscan style base and cap Several sizes available 6" to 20" Diameter and from 5' to 20' in length.   Optional Decorative Capitals Decorative capitals and bases are manufactured from polyurethane composite materials.
